Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be onshore in Australia at the time of application.
- Intend to reside in Sydney during the course of their candidature.
- Plan to enroll full-time in the MRes starting Session 2, 2026.
- Meet the English language requirements for Macquarie graduate research degrees.

Who Is Not Eligible?

- Applicants planning to defer the MRes program to Session 1, 2027.

Selection Process
Macquarie University ranks applicants primarily on academic performance:
- Weighted Average Mark (WAM) for current Macquarie graduates.
- Grade Point Average (GPA) for graduates before 2020 or from other institutions.
Overseas qualifications are assessed using Australian Government guidelines to ensure equivalence with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). Only the top-ranked applicants will receive the scholarship.
