Position Overview

As a Clinical Advisor, you will be at the forefront of IRC’s health initiatives, ensuring that high-quality medical care is delivered to those most in need. Your expertise will play a vital role in the development and implementation of healthcare programs in emergency settings, working alongside local and international teams to improve health outcomes for displaced and vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Leadership: Provide expert clinical advice and leadership to IRC’s health programs in emergency settings, ensuring that best practices in healthcare are followed and local health needs are met.
  • Program Design & Implementation: Develop and review healthcare protocols and guidelines to maintain quality of care across IRC field programs. Ensure the timely delivery of health services in line with IRC’s standards and international best practices.
  • Capacity Building: Offer training and technical support to healthcare staff in IRC field operations, fostering the development of local healthcare workers and systems. Ensure ongoing professional development and knowledge transfer within teams.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Support the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems for health programs, providing data-driven insights that can guide programmatic improvements.
  • Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with internal IRC teams, local health authorities, and other partners to integrate healthcare services and improve coordination in humanitarian responses.

Required Qualifications

Candidates for this role must demonstrate strong academic credentials and relevant professional experience in mental health or social services.

Educational Requirements

  • Graduate degree in one of the following fields:
    • Social Work
    • Psychology
    • Counseling
    • Equivalent mental health discipline
    • Minimum of four years of relevant work experience in areas such as:
    • At least two years of experience developing or managing programs serving vulnerable populations.
    • Preferred Licensure
    • California licensure to provide clinical mental health services is preferred, including:

  • Proven ability to supervise individuals and teams in clinical environments

Language Skills

Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Additional languages relevant to refugee populations are considered an advantage, including:

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for the Clinical Advisor position is $95,642 to $100,079 annually, pro-rated for part-time hours. Salary offers depend on several factors, including:
